Hey lads,

I just bought a TLR online, but Im still trying to find out which one it is. I think the original nameplate might have falleb off, but Im not that familiar enough to know what Im looking at. The closest I got was the Yashica A, but its simply not the same.

Could be a Ciro Flex with the name plate removed. You can see two holes where the name plate would be attached above the viewing lens.

TLRs are like that announcement at the airport baggage claim that repeats "Many bags look alike." There are a lot of fairly similar ones and many small variants.

The nameplate has clearly fallen off. Many TLRs would have had a badge on the viewing hood as well, but that's not always consistent.

I think it looks like a Yashica Rookie (ancestor of the Yashica A): https://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Yashica_6×6_TLR_(knob_advance)#Yashica_Rookie
but I've never actually held one and that is a guess.

I tried searching for a "TLR Anastigmat" (I think that's what the taking lens reads) and didn't find a match. Could it be the elusive "MusselFlex"? I guess you'll find out soon enough.

So many of those basic TLRs were rebagded by lots of resellers.

Only the lens/shutter combo might give you enough clues to be sure.

Ive come to the conclusion that it is either an alfaflex or a cosmoflex based on the appearance and shutter. I cannot find one with a J Echor lens tho

Perhaps the lenses were replaced at one point.

Sadly the shutter was stuck and opening it up I realised this one was gonna be a decoration camera.
