I've inadvertently jammed my 100mm lens to my 503CX body, apparently because I failed to line up the lens and body properly and/or failed to see it the lens was cocked. Camera won't advance, mirror won't retract. What to do?

There is a tool that will un jam the lens. You can find it on E-BAY, it's inexpensive. I had a lens jammed and ruined a lens trying to loosen it. This tool will help avoid future problems

If you have not loosened the lens yet and cannot find the tool send your address. I no longer have a HASSELBLAD and do not need my tool. I will ship it to you for free.

Using both the "tool" and a screwdriver, I found it impossible to turn the screw. and did not want to apply excess force. So off it goes to repair.

Hello Arhurwg,

It's been a while since this has happened to me, but I think there are two levels of stuck lenses on Hasselblads, maybe there's an even stuckier level that I have not experienced yet. The first level is easily remedied with the special screwdriver tool that is designed to keep you from stabbing the rear element of the lens. I had this level of lens sticking immediately after acquiring a 500CM. It was easily removed by re-cocking the lens. I while later experienced the more dreaded level of stuck lens which I think is what you have and I remember finding the video that jnantz posted. That was what I used last time and while it was a bit scary removing parts and jacking things around inside the body, it worked like a charm, Hope that helps.

Well, the tech should have the camera soon via Priority Mail. I'm simply not adept enough to try the second stage procedure. After many years of using a Hasselblad, this is a first and an expensive mistake. Taking the opportunity to have the body CLA while I'm at it.

Just heard back from the Tech. Apparently a spring involved with the auxiliary shutter broke, which he says caused the jam. That may explain why I couldn't turn the interior screw in either direction. Still, it seems odd that an aux shutter spring would disable the camera. Complex piece of kit.
