I have some lens cells for a red-dot artar that I am trying to fit in the barrel from a non-red-dot artar. Unfortunately the threads are just slightly too big to go in the barrel. I heard someone a while back mention a 'thread file'. Do you think this will help? Any other ideas?

Too bad theres no such thing as a -1mm adapter. I thought I made myself clear that the lens cells are just a hair too big to go into the barrel. And for the price of any work from skgrimes, i could probably buy a whole lens in a barrel.

How do you know the barrel would provide the correct spacing of the cells. Unless it was designed for the RD of the FL it most likely will be the wrong spacing. It's very critical how the cells are spaced.

Thats a good question. I will double-check the barrel with a micrometer when i get home .

When in doubt... use a dremel

i just ground out the threads till it fit. Messy job but it works.
