HELLO everyone! Sorry for trouble but can any help me because i bought the bronica etrs body for my research project but something is WRONG.
ok first i notice the mirror in the body stay on and when i tried to advance the film( there's film in the back) yhe crank just keep going and it doesn't stop at 1. And the shutter would't fire ( But there is image on the ground glass).
Next is tried to remove the film back and turn on double exposure mechanism and test the shutter but the mirror just dosen't flip up and the shutter not fire at all!!
after that i remove the lens with the mirror cocked and i notice the shutter pin on the lens is not cocked, so i pushed the pin back to the green point. BUT when i tried to fire the shutter again, it happened again! The pin on the lens is uncock again?? Help!!! I tried different lens but all does the same thing. Any solution?? Thanks
**The battery iis new and the indicator lights up

In my experience with the SQ** series (its big brother), the film winding through without stopping is a problem with the back.

Also there is a knurled ring around the shutter release button that turns to lock/unlock the release, if that's locked, the shutter won't fire.

Beyond that, your description of the mirror behavior sounds as if the body may be unhappy. I'm pretty sure the non-Si model will fire at 1/500 without a battery (that's definitely the case with the SQ and my SQ-A) so battery condition is not at play.

There are interlocks between the back and the body which are via small pins inside a tube. There have been reports of problems where the pin is bent or has been jammed, but again, without the back and multi-exposure enabled, that should not matter.

These modular "system" cameras are great when they work, but unless you have more than one copy of the major parts, trouble shooting can be very frustrating. Unfortunately any given example of these cameras could be upwards of 30 or more years old and heavily used and abused by wedding or other pro photographers, so purchasing one is a bit of a gamble.

First check the little lever by the crank that its up in single frame mode.
Next.. dark slide in? Press teh little black button by the film back n the back should come right off. Does it work now?
Are you sure there is film in he back n wound on properly? Perhaps it slipped off the spool? OPen it n see?

OK.. now jsut for laughs.. flip the little silver lever by the cranp down. Advance as if you had film. Does it fire now?

When the lens is off you say you cant fire the shutter? Press the pin in and turn the other pins from red to green?
Recock it n try again? OH on the nose of the lens... there is a screw that has an A next to it... is it in the correct position n the screw tightened down?

Answer the questions n lets see how you do. From there we can determine whats wrong.

One more thing.. which prism do you have on it? Take the prism off n see if fires now?

now how can you say its the lens if removing it doesnt solve the problem?

its a process of elimination till it works.

remove everything, the back, the lens and the viewfinder. With the multiple exposure lever set, and the shutter lock turned off, you should be able to flip the mirror up when firing the shutter, and it should come down when you crank. Even without battery. The crank should come to a stop too. If not, the body is the problem.
