I recently picked up a hasselblad 500c/m from KEH...

Its a real beauty!

I'm somewhat new to medium format but decided to go all in with the blad...

I have a waist level finder and have been having trouble seeing through it in low light, especially anywhere past 5.6..

my question is:

is this something I should just get used to or is there something i can do to improve the screen?

is it a common issue?

Are you sure the lens stop down switch is not set making it go darker as you stop down? Or is the screen an older one?
There are newer Accute Matte D screens available that are extremely bright for reasonable dollars on Feebay. Try KEH too.
