Just want to say hello and introduce myself to everyone. My name is Tom and I'm a photography student at BGSU. I was looking for a change of pace from digital, which I use for when I take pictures for campus publications, so I picked up an Nikon N90s and enrolled in a color class.

I'm finding that I prefer film to digital because it's more simple and easier to shoot than having to fiddle with settings. I also like shooting a 36 exposure roll and the anticipation of seeing how they turned out.

Here's a bit of what I've been shooting for class. Please excuse the quality, I just scanned the print.

Yeah, BGSU is Bowling Green State University. I'm currently working on putting together a photo minor because the school doesn't have one. So I've had to take Visual Communication Technology (VCT) classes relating to photo and then take fine art photography which is why I have a film camera.

And to Jeff, I wholeheartedly agree. I love my N90s, it's rock solid, gives me accurate meter readings, and gives me perfectly exposed images every time. Heck, I even dropped it onto asphalt once and it wasn't even phased. I tend to have more peace of mind carrying the N90s over my D90 just because it feels more solid.

Welcome to APUG, Tom. Good to have you with us. So, I take it you are trying to get them to create a photography minor? Is that right? That would be awesome.
