I thought I would like to introduce myself. I sign up for this website because I love to use film. I also shoot digital, leica m8, but by far my favorate camara to shoot is the mamiya 7. I am new to film and I am hooked. I have used film in the past but never knew what I was doing. Now I made the decision to embrace film above digital. I like shooting with color negative film, especially the new portra 400 from kodak, but I still have a lot to learn. I love the look and feel of film. Later on when I am getting better I want to try the black and white films from Rollei, adox etc.
Thanks for reading

Welcome from the land of Elvis, Graceland and peanut butter and nanner sandwiches.

The Mamiya 7 is a great camera, not one I would have chosen for a beginner camera but still a good one. If you are wanting to develop film I would suggest starting with B&W but if all you want to do is take great pictures and have a lab develop them then color is good.

Thank you everyone for welcoming me. Yes, I shoot the new portra film for landscapes and cityscapes and I like the colors that I get from it. I have not used the film on overcast days but early morning and late afternoon shots in the winter time of New Jersey the colors are to my eyes warm and saturated but not to the point that it is too much. I also like the contrast of the film. Bare in mind that this is just my taste. Yes, am planning to become a subscriber to this site after the holiday season.
