Hello!

My name is Erin, I am from south africa and I am currently studying at UCT.
I am trying to make a camera that can take a photo over a few days indoors and I am struggling to get it right, would love some help! not sure which forum to put this in.
I have been using a pinhole camera and a diy nd filter but I haven't had much success.

Pinhole can be tricky, when opening new thread - also can give more details: do you use tripod, which film, how long is exposure and so on, with some picture examples.

do you have a magnifying glass ?
you can make a box camera and use a magnifying glass as a lens.
you will have to figure out what distance to put the magnifying glass lens from the paper
( if you are photographing out your window you can hold the magnifying glass back and forth from a wall
to see when an image that is sharp appears on the wall, that is the distance you want to have it from your photo paper )
you can put photo paper in the box and just point it out the window for a few days and you will get a nice image.
it will be sort of like the original photographs made in the 1820s and lots of fun!

Just don't have the sun in the frame, or you'll have a burnt box, instead.

I am currently using photo paper, but i wouldn't mind using film. A mix of artificial lighting and natural lighting since i want the image to be of a room over time. White light mostly. I can't afford an ND filter so I have been using welding glass instead.

Welding glass, for use with arc welding, would block pretty much all light. I doubt you'd get an image on a piece of photo paper in a pinhole camera if you left it there for a year with a piece of welding glass over the pinhole.

Yeah me too
Are you attempting for images you develop out ( developer fix wash ) or something that is an image stained on the paper itself after you expose it ( like a liken print or solar graph)?
Inside with a pinhole of and welding goggles is like continental drift slow...
