Hi everyone,

I'm Vo Danh, from Hanoi, Vietnam. Whenever I'm free, I'd like to fool around with Minolta x700 vs MC Rokkor 55mm 1:1.7 and Zenit ET-7 vs Helios 44-7. I'm an absolutely amateur, it's great for me to know this forum, there's much to learn, especially the developing method.

I hope as time flies, I can contribute something, too.

Chao! That and another half dozen words are about all I remember from my government sponsored vacation in the 60's.

Welcome to Photrio! I am from Vietnam but living in the USA for 44 years now. I have never been to Hanoi and the next time I visit Vietnam I make sure to see Hanoi. Please tell me how do you develop your film in Hanoi and also what is the cost of film and processing there.

Dear Chan, I'm originally from Nam Dinh (do you remember that region?), but now living in Hanoi for 10 years. It's easy to buy and develop film in Hanoi nowadays, there are 2 labs that we can trust (Croplab and AEG), they used to develop negative with C-41 and positive film with E-6. Price are quite reasonable, with 1.5$/2$ for color/b&w negative film and 8$ for positive film.
It's great to hear from you, there is a group RolleiFlex., Leica And Hasselblad and Other Film Cameras on facebook that many Vietnamese people enroll, domestically and internationally (admin is Ky Po, living in Europe). You can join and share your great photos there.

Welcome Vo Danh. I spent a few months working in Vietnam about 10 years ago. Mostly around Quy Nhon, but I did get a nice trip by car from the Northwest mountains down to Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam is a beautiful country with nice friendly people and great food. I have some great memories of my time there.
