Jorge Orte Tudela
Hello everybody!
I'm glad to join this group, I'm another film enthusiast. Here in Spain things are really bad unless you live in Barcelona or Madrid, but this is not going to stop me using film as far as is available, and I'm sure it will be still available after I die. If I have to order it to the other side of the world I'll do it.
I currently shot only colour slide film and some B&W negative, mostly medium format with a Hasselblad 503CW, but some 35 mm too, with a Nikon F2 and ocasionally with some vintage rangefinders.
I'm relatively new to photography, because althoug I started shooting about 22 years ago, when I was 5 years old, I started to shoot "seriously" at the age of 14. Not having money to support my hobby I left it for many years.
I started photographying again about three years ago, with a Nikon D70 (yes, I'm guilty). One year after I knew a pro photographer who showed me the power of film, in particular the power of slide film through a high end drum scanner (even 35 mm is by far much better than the best DSLR), and cibachrome too. I haven't shoot digital since then, and I don't have any intention to do it again. He, he, I have free drum scans since I usually work in photomechanical labs
(I didn't shoot for many years, but I can't count how many photos I've colour corrected and retouched with photoshop for more than 10 years).
Now I process at home both B&W film, in manual tank, and E-6 in a JOBO CPE-2. I have a B&W darkroom for paper prints too, still learning, but making big progress. I hope to do cibachrome prints at home someday too, but I still have to learn too much about B&W printing.
I post my photos to flickr, if you like to look them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jorgeorte/
And my personal selection is in: Dead Link Removed
