That sounds like a blind alley! Welcome all the same, hope you find the right turning this time.

Welcome to APUG, Deus!
I can guarantee that if you hang around here long enough, you will start taking pictures you like more and possibly even with a camera you like, too!

Welcome!

Will you be spending much time in Snowdonia? I'm nearby in Ellesmere port and like nothing more than getting away into the mountains. Just spent 3 days there on the trot; hope I've some decent negs. First proper foray with the 10x8 too (which probably means I have no decent negs!)

We are in a great part of the UK for photography!

Tom

I work in Ellesmere Port! I do love Snowdonia and live 10 minutes from Llangollen.

Another welcome from this side of the pond but still accross the water, unless you want a long(ish) drive

Do you guys actually have mountains in Wales? :D

...This coming from a guy who grew up a stones throw from the Rockie Mountains of Colorado.

To us they have a mountain, to you it's a errrm mole hill

Snowdonia is mountainous enough to make good pictures, anyway. Nice area, I was there some years ago. Spent a few days in Beddgelert.

And I live in West Norway - not in the mountains, but in the valleys.

hello deus - nice to have you here

[Deep indignant intake of breath....]

God's country, you know!

Small but oh so soulful. Admitedly saying you've climbed Snowdon is not going to make people have visions of oxygen masks and yaks.......but there are real dwarves in the Welsh mountains and I'm not giving up till I find them

Indeed the welsh mountains and valleys are beautiful!
Great opportunities around Pistyll Rhaeadr as well is you don't mind a good hike.

Especially if you've cheated and gone up on the railway!

Welcome from the English side of the Welsh Marches.

I always wondered what kind of folk you get up there by train.
Thanks for letting us know.

Cheek!

Definitely not me.

I'm a serious walker too, it always makes me annoyed when you've hiked up Snowdon, only to come across hordes of people in their trainers, sandals or high heels. The same thing happens on Cairngorm with the railway there.

Cheers

Mike
