Hi all! My name is Evan and I come from Winnipeg Canada, a small but cold city located in the central prairie area of Canada.

I've come here to discuss lots of film photography!

I usually use the forum "Cameralabs" to discuss digital photography and what not, but considering that they don't have a film section, I've come here.

I use my father's old Nikon FM to shoot, along with some old Nikkor primes.

Hey there, neighbour.

What I've found is the learning curve for me took right off, after coming here...just an incredible learning resource. It's basically rejuvenated my whole approach to photography, and indeed helped spark whole new pursuits, too. Invaluable.

There is a whole community here to answer questions and help you as you learn. Not as much sniping as I find on thoer forums either. Glad you found us.

If I want to ask a question about what film I should buy perhaps, where should I post it? Thanks!

And yes, it is cold, unbearably cold here in the Winters! Have you ever heard of -45 degrees centigrade?

Hi Evan,

I have found Photo Central a great place to buy, and also learn about the different film options. Everyone there is well educated about film, vs other camera stores. Have fun with your new adventure, Susan

Welcome from west along the Trans Canada. I escaped Winnipeg when I was five but after periods in Grande Prairie and Prince George perhaps Winnipeg winters are not so bad.

Thanks for the advice Susan! I've tried Henry's before, but it seems as if they're digital.

Photo Central is highly recommended for film, darkroom supplies and excellent staff.
