Hi, I joined APUG and this is my first post.
I found APUG by accident while searching the web and it felt like a buble of fresh air !

I love film photography, whether looking at photographs, or taking photographs, or reading about photography. I am keen and have a huge passion ... and yet, a mediocre photographer.

I use a medium format camera Bronica ETRSi which I like because it is versatile and I can still carry it. I use it like a big SLR.
I have a couple of Canon A1, which I don't use so often because after stepping up to MF, it is difficult to go back to 35mm really.
Once I am more experienced, I would love to set up to even larger formats. Also I use a scanner Epson V700.

I stepped for the first time into a darkroom last year or so (doing colour & BW process), I have not had a chance to practise since then but I am reading very useful information on APUG's forums and I really want to go back to doing more darkroom process.
I am planning to register to a course at St Martins about Alternative photographic processes.

Sorry for this lengthy introduction, but to conclude I'd like to say that I am based in London (this said I am French) and I'd love to meet other film photographers. So please if you are based in London let me know.

Welcome. Like you I first found APUG by accident and must have spent days just looking at the threads. There's something new here almost everyday

Welcome to APUG. I'm not in the UK, but rather on the other side of the big salty lake in NYC. The folks you'll find here are pretty friendly and usually know their stuff. Once again, welcome to the dark side.

Delphine,

Another welcome to APUG from NYC. I also use a Bronica ETRSi when I am at our Tucson, AZ residence. I just recently started exploring medium format. As I have, I'm sure you will find this is a great place to learn.

Welcome from Hawaii. Don't worry, there is a very active APUG group in the UK. Be sure to look at the UK regional forum.

Welcome Delphine from the western part of New England.

Welcome! I'm finally going to visit your beautiful city in a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to it.

Hello from the Isle of Wight from another ETRS owner (not an ETRSi though).

I also found this site by accident about a year ago and it has Increased my enthusiasm and knowledge of film photography a lot.

Welcome to APUG from the northwest of England!

There's a lot of good information on the site. I'm sure you'll find a lot of useful help and encouragement here (I have!).

Welcome Delphine! I'm a Londoner too (South London). This is a great place to be if you're a film user. That course at St Martin's sounds interesting - I've done a number of courses there in the past, but last time I looked they seemed to have dropped all darkroom work apart from an introductory one. I might check it out again...

Hi, no I can confirm that they have a few darkroom courses going on. I used this link to search darkroom and photographic course: http://www.arts.ac.uk/ and the course I referred to is at http://courses.csm.arts.ac.uk/shortcourse.asp?ci=3960&ct=1&ma=10&cat=43

Also I am thinking of going back to Photofusion to get back into the swing of darkroom processing

To all,
Thank you so so much for your warm welcome ! I am thrilled :D

Thank you for that link - good to see a little darkroom work still going on, even though they used to have reams of darkroom courses, so it's a bit of a shame. I'm looking for a short intensive course on platinum/palladium & making digital negatives, (sorry, wrong forum), which I can't seem to get my head round on my own, time as much as anything...no such courses seem to exist in the U.K!

Hi Delphine,

Welcome to the forum, from another Londoner.

Regards JON

Salut Delphine! APUG-c'est le plus grande!

Thank you all for a very warm welcome indeed... I like the APUG community so much that I am already a subscriber !

Hello from South Cheshire,

Hello Delphine,

I can't really say a }collective{ 'Welcome,' because I haven't been on for quite a while, and a 'Nice to meet you', may seem rather 'unusual'..

A site that you may find useful is wwwdotphotoglossydotcom. They are based in Guernsey, and are the Cheapest on the net for all Ilford, Kodak and Fuji film. They have free 1st class postage and packaging on All film to mainland UK,
