Hi! my name is Alberto. I live in Guadalajara, Spain.

I start in photografy some years ago and allways did digital. Now, some months ago, I discovered B&W Tradicional photo. Now I shot allmost everithing with an old Canon EOS 1000F, while my EOS 300D sleeps in his box.

I'm using mostly Ilford Products: HP5 and Delta Films, Ilfosol S developer, and multigrade papers. Im'm still fighting with FB paper. I think I's harder to find the correct exposure than with RC papers... but I`m sure I'll success.

Any Spanish here?

Wow, an original digital user gone analog. I wonder how many others here have had a similar experience? I started long before digital, thought briefly about digital when it first became obvious that it might actually be possible to do some decent work that way (about 1.5 years ago) and then completely abandoned any thoughts of pixels and went back into my darkroom. Quite happily, I might add. Welcome, Alberto.

Hello Alberto. I'd like to offer a Welcome to APUG as well.

You've selected some good products to work with for your images. Perhaps you may find the article "Dealing with Dry Down" by Mr Les McLean useful for establishing good print exposures on FB paper.

You can click here if you wish to read ... (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Looking forward to seeing some of your photographs from Spain.

Best, John McC

Bienvenido Alberto!

I haven;t found differences in finding the right exposure between RC and fiber paper. BUT Dry-down may play a huge role in your exposure....

PS> Jorge, many of the cities in latin america borrowed names from Spain such as Cuenca, Guadalajara, Torreon, Loja, etc.

Bienvenido Alberto,

Hola Alberto!

Well, that's about it for my Spanish. I do know American Sign Language, but a fat lot of good that does on the computer!

Glad you found film & like it! I also started out with RC paper and I am just migrating to fiber. I took Les McLean's workshop & I agree with John McCallum... check out Les' article... it will help a lot!

Anyway, wlecome to APUG!

Hola Alberto.

Welcome, Alberto

Alberto,

I apologize for this being in English only. I am hoping we will all be able to see your photographs in APUG. I would especially like to see any that may have been inspired by absinthe, as it is illegal here is the US.

WELCOME!!!!!
