Hello from soggy Seattle!

Hi, I have been browsing this site for a couple of days after I stumbled across it. There is so much information and experience here that I think I have found the right place to learn something new.

I have been into photography for quite awhile just never did anything about it except whenever I went on vacation with my digital camera. I have some pretty good digital shots but I am not big on doing all the afterwork stuff in photoshop or whatever other progams there are. My digital camera is old and doesn't work very well anymore so last year I went out and bought a Canon film camera. To me there is something so emotional/personal about film photography.

I want to take a photography class but am very discouraged by what is offered here so I am taking it upon myself to learn how to do it. This month has me getting my darkroom set up.

I like to take photos of everyday ordinary items at angles where you can't always tell what it is right away. Building, the older and more abandoned the better. I also do some band photography for some friends of mine who play in local bands.

Welcome! I just responded to your Seattle photo supply request. There are a few of us in the Seattle area. Look at the Seattle Area Camera Makers Unite! thread to see who is around and what we are up to. Barry, John and Steve are all top notch. We are spread over Seattle, Kent, Tacoma, and Edmonds. The 'inkies'. I like it. I have a couple of good friends who are inkies. Both expose and develop film but don't have darkrooms so they are forced into inkness. One of the friends would print properly in a heartbeat if he had space for a darkroom.

Anyway... Welcome to the asylum Shannon. If we ever get around to organizing some sort of mass APUG photography weekend here then we'll meet.
