Hello everyone! My name is Monica, I'm from Portugal. I started photographing as a hobby nearly one year ago with a digital camera, only to fall completely for the magic of analogue photography a few months later. It is a compelling passion I am still discovering and I was very happy to learn about this site. I will be dropping by regularly!

APUG has been around for years and a search will bring you loads of information on virtually any topic imaginable. If not, don't hesitate to ask. There is a huge range of photographic backgrounds and experience here that are happy to share their knowledge and opinions.

I would now like to ask a beginners question:

I would like to add a photo to my introduction to this community but before I upload it I would like to know if such a photo would be welcome here since I do not yet have an enlarger and have no other choice but to scan my negatives. I guess that sort of makes me a hybrid.

I am aware of Hybridphoto.com but this hybrid solution I am using is really not by choice but by force of circumstance.

Welcome Monica, from the other side of the Mediterranean (although you guys are really Atlantic people).

Don't worry about posting a scanned negative. Many people share their photos with us using that method. You are just restricted to not using extensive post-processing: taking the dust off and fiddling a bit with the contrast and tones are still ok.
