I have learned so much in the few days I have subscribed to this user group. I started photography with an Asahi Pentax in Japan while in the military. I carried that camera to Vietnam and Thailand. It was stolen years ago in Chicago. I am using Olympus OMs now. I am very interesting in scanning black and white negatives.

Welcome to APUG, from your northern neighbor in Aberdeen, WA..
I used the Olympus system for quite awhile (OM-1n, OM-2n, OM-sp), 'till switching (back) to Nikon a couple years ago. The nice thing about the OM system is that all of the equipment is small and lightweight, but very solid. (I lug-around a Nikon F3HP with MD-4 motordrive, and with the Nikkor ED 180mm f/2.8 lens on, it can be a very heavy package to carry while on a walkabout.).
Welcome to the forum (I have only recently joined myself). I have several Pentax cameras - I tend to use my Spotmatic F mostly.
I notice you are interested in scanning B&W negs - I use an Epson V700 scanner and I am very pleased with it - it can handle 35mm as well as MF material.
