Hey, I'm jimmybuzaid, I am just 13 years old, living in Tarrytown, NY but visiting my mom in NYC, weekends. I own a Nikon N65 and a Canon AF35M ii (Sureshot). It's great to be here!

Welcome. I gave up film when I was 13 and point-and-shoots were on their way out in lieu of digital (which I couldn't afford). Wish I had stuck with it all those years and learned something instead of just playing video games in the basement.

A warm welcome to APUG from Durban, South Africa. It's a great place to give and get advice on anything to do with analog photography.

Welcome, Jimmy. I wish you to enjoy taking pictures and I invite you to show them to the forum. Apug is, probably, the best internet place to learn about film photography. Good luck and take photos.
Henry.

Great to see a young(er) face around here. I'm 22... born and raised in NYC myself, temporarily located near Albany, but moving back full-time in the next 6 months...I get back there as often as I can...

Thanks for the warm welcome! I found the N65 in a mess of boxes in my basement (it was abandoned after my dad got a DSLR) and the Sureshot I found on eBay for $10. The battery compartment wouldn't close, so after one email I was allowed to keep the camera for free. The camera functions fine with some tape. The black electrical tape fits with the camera.

Welcome. The next 6 or 7 years of your life will probably be the most fun/challenging/difficult/exciting times you may ever have and it would be wonderful if you could document it on film! And, you are not likely to ever have as much free time to explore something like photography so get to it and good luck! You will find some amazing resources here.

You may want to look at what this young Frenchman achieved, unknowingly at the time.

I lived just up the road in Ossining for a few years in the early nineties and have some fond memories of Tarrytown. Saw a few gigs at the Tarrytown music hall and enjoyed learning about the history of the area. I am gradually sorting through and scanning all my film negatives and recently came across a few from that part of the world.
