I'm happy to join this forum and have many questions, and hope i can contribute in some way. I have been happily shooting film for the last 30 years. I shoot 35mm with pre ai and ai Nikons/Nikkormats and 6x6cm with hasselblad 500cm / c type lenses. I develope and print all my b+w and send out my color negs/slides. With the exception of my computer and scanner i am still stuck in the late 70s and am hesitant to move forward with new technology. perhaps backward??
I had studied photography when I was in college and wanted to become a professional photographer. I soon realized that in order to survive or earn a decent living i had to please clients and not myself. It was a blessing
for me to learn this at an early age because i can honestly say that i photograph only to please one person..myself and to me that is the highest art form.
Its great to see so many film buffs in one group and look forward many discussions.
shoe,
Indeed welcome - Montréal is definitely a beautiful place to be - I spent a summer there a few years back, unfortunately this is before I decided to pursue photography to any large extent - I think I only shot about 4 rolls all summer...I would now probably get lost in the pile of shots that resulted from a visit...it's one of the nicest 'summering' spots in Canada in my opinion (but I'm a bit of an urba-phile.)
