Hello from Italy

Hi guys,

I write from Italy, specially because there are not so much blogs in Italy about films.
Only 2 years that I use films. Before, I used in my childhood.
I often use 35mm (Pentax bodies: MX, P30n; M42 bodies: Praktica FX2, Cosina 4000s; Olympus IS-1; Kiev IV); then often the medium format (Yashica Mat 124G, that for me is a great lens, Ferrania Eura (lomo type), Ensign Ful Vue II). I have also a great milanese view camera of the 60's, Fatis DS 5x7', but use it sporadically for landscapes.
I am very interested in the different kind of processing b/w, althought I process colour negatives and slides in my personal laboratory.
I frequent a course in Genoa where I approach to various kind of developing (for example we used a PMK pyro kit last time).
I live not far from Ferrania, waiting for the new slide film as you.

I guess it is a Fatif. I still have a catalogue from them I got at Photokina '94. A Basic view camera but with unique outer.

Your English is better than that of many native English speakers I know. You are communicating well, so don't worry about it. As a matter of fact, you're doing better than my Great Grandmother. She was Barese, and lived here in the U.S.A. for her last 60 years.
 

This is a terrific opportunity to know each other well in a more personal aspect! This is is great! I just Googled the term you used, and I know know a little more about the world! Sad to say, that I have not learned or heard about the Barese history ever! I wish I had enough to share other than knowing both my parent's were born in the Texas area, and that my grandparent's may have came from Mexico, from what we were told! My grandfather hails from an area Matamoros's Mexico, near Corpus Christi Texas, their place of settlement, while tales mention my mother's history in the Monterrey Mexico area, that is all I have know!
My father spoke of his father's mention of his grand father coming from Spain, however, this has never been proven to us, so I take it with a grain of salt! I had a DNA exam a few year's back just to understand my heritage a bit more, but the outcome was a bit easy to decipher, European ancestry, as most of the Mestizo's of the country my forefather's hailed from! The most marker's indicated a heritage of Irish descent, followed by English, which goes to say history has this part easily explained, with many conquest's throughout the world! i found it a bit odd that the Spaniard area did not hold a higher presence!
Oh well, as I tell my children, if it really is a huge concern to anyone, we are American of Mexican descent, however, my children are a bit more easier to describe to the ever wanting world, they are half Laotian, half Thai, and whatever it is, aside from proud human, that I am! Yes, ops, it is a Fatif. It is my first LF camera and I like it a lot (weight a lot too). Fatif is still alive as company, but ended the production of cameras.
