Hi, my name is Robert, I am 38 and work as a Network- and System-Administrator at an economic research facility in Mannheim/Germany. I love photography since my early childhood, my granddad gave me a 126 camera when I was around 5. After a pretty long break from photography I revived this hobby around 3 years ago and since then shoot mostly 6x6 with a Kiev-88 or 35mm with a Zorki 4. I seem to collect old cameras, since they start to pile up here on my photo gear shelf at home...
I still consider myself to be a bloody beginner, and have still a lot to learn. The results of this (hopefully existing) learning process can be viewed at my flickr page: robats flickr home. I shoot mostly analog and developy my BW stuff at home, but talk my soon-to-be-wife Yve into borrowing me her Nikon D50 sometimes, too.
Hmm, I guess thats all as an introduction, and before I bore you all to death I stop here, hehe. Cheers !

Hello Robert. Welcome from a neighbour to the left.

Hans

Welcome in, Robert, from one beginner to another. I like your Berlin photos.

I traveled a few years ago back to the places in Germany my family had left some 100 + years ago -and found beautiful places and wonderful people. I'll be back.

Hi Robert. I also liked your Berlin pictures. I looked because I was there 20 years ago. Welcome to APUG!

Welcome from the Isle of Wight, England.

I won't try German either as mine is probably worse than Roger's. As I mentioned in an earlier 'Hello from France' thread, if you were to ask me where the cat was and it happened to be on the table, I could understand and give a reply. But that's just about my limit!

Steve

Herzlich willkommen ;-))

Hi Robert, welcome from Hawaii, I hope you enjoy our community. Germany is a great place, I was last there in 2003, but lived there from 1979 - 1981 - loved every minute of it.

Welcome from Oestringen, not too far away from Mannheim.

Regards

Hello Robert,

Welcome from a another Efke film user and new APUG user from France !

Welcome Robert,

As you can tell from my name, I'm of German heritage, there are many friendly beginners here, and lots of people with real talent....I will spare you my rapidly disappearing command of German (er, is "Willkommen" ok?).

Herzlich willkommen

Hi Robert, I work up the road in Heidelberg, also an IT guy (Oracle DBA), but I live in Stuttgart. I like your pics as well. A long since I been to Frankfurt, must go back and take some pics.

Hello folks, thank you for the nice and warm welcome  I hope I find the time to contribute a little bit, too... Cheers !

Hi Robert,

Welcome to APUG. I like your photos.
If I were you, I would think twice about marrying a woman with a digital camera
