Welcome! I think you're in the interesting position that you are justified if you wish to break out the "royal we"!

Sounds good though I must admit to being disappointed right off the bat as the featured print I'm shown when viewing the home page says:

"Giclée" 'Gigli' inkjet, sigh... All of Simon's works in this exhibition are inkjet prints.

Understanding and appreciation of inkjet prints belongs in hybridphoto.com not apug

That is on their website, not on APUG.

Get a life!

I do have a life! They obviously came on here hoping we'd join Gallery 44 in discussion.

With a thousand posts in 3 months, some might question the first part.

As to the second part, they offer courses in Traditional Black and White Photography, Tintypes and Split Grade printing with Bob Carnie. Clearly within the purview of APUG.

did you look at anything beyond the "home page" ?
the gallery has been around since 1979 and seems to have deep roots
in traditional... and modern image making,
modern work has just as much to do with contemporary photography as folks
doing arcane processes.

sounds like you went to the front page, saw the featured artist's work
were disappointed immediately and then and suggested this new member should to to another website instead of apug ...
not really sure how i read that wrong ...

i have digital images on my front page as well, but i have been here since 2003

It is disturbing to read fellow APUG members "snapping" at each other publicly. I don't think that is how the forum was intended to be used. Constructive criticism by all means. I suggest such personal comments be shared privately. As a b&w enthusiast, I was drawn to Gallery 44's facilities. In Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, we are blessed to have a similar facility: eleven work stations on the perimeter surrounding two-eight foot sinks covered by a huge hooded fan. The facility has a separate chemical storage/mixing room and a film drying room. What we don't have access to is the photo finishing.

Welcome to APUG! I was always impressed by Gallery 44 when I was living in Toronto, although unfortunately never got to do any workshops there.
