Hello,

My name is Thomas Reiss, in my 40th. I'm a father of two and husband and we live in France. I dived seriously in photography since 15 years, enjoying digital and film photography. However, I put everything on hold for a few years after the arrival of my childs and the work in our house. However, now that my little daughter is two years old, I wanted to take pictures for me and get back seriously into film photography again.
Recently, a film lab in my home town closed its business and I was able to buy a De Vere 504. Now I have a project to build my darkroom.
I shoot 135mm and 120 and I'm looking for 4x5".

For 135, I'm a Nikon guy. My father bought a Nikkormat FT2 new and I still have it. I have some more gear BTW
For 120, a Rolleiflex 2.8, a Bronica S2a and a Pentacon Six TL. All cameras were CLAd recently.
Also, I have a Linhof Technika 3 since a few years but never came to use it. Now I have everything I need to process sheet films.

I was reading the forum since a few months and I think it's time to get a bit more involved.

Regards

Welcome to APUG Photrio!!

Welcome, bienvenue!
Beaucoup de jolis appareils sur ta liste.

Plenty of interesting history near Limoges.

Also, my great-uncle is buried there:
Mort pour la France le 25-01-1919 Limoges - hôpital Chastaingt

Bienvenue! It's nice to have you here. I lived in Nancy for a couple of years (in fact, I joined Photrio, then APUG, at that time) but never made it to your part of France. Looking forward to seeing your work here!

Hi, thanks a lot. I've spent my youth near Strasbourg, so I know a little this part of France too. We moved a lot with my wife, we met in Paris, then moved to Obernai, then Marseille, then Limoges. Limoges is a nice place

I'm sure it is! The next time I go back to France I really would like to spend more time exploring the parts of the country I didn't get a chance to visit when I lived there.

Well, as a French native, I would recommend folks watch some Tour de France stages, cheapest way to see some stunning landmarks.
A couple of years ago a stage, in the southwest went pretty much along a section of what was the path of the Camino de Santiago. Later that day, race went under a very narrow Middle-Age portico structure, a toll gate to the trade town or such.

I know the website. I'm already a member of the 35mm-compact.com forum, where I find plenty of informations about large format. But I'll see if I can join galerie-photo's forum. Thanks !

awarm welcom to You Tom. As you certainly know, photography is a French invention and it's great for you to continue the tradition.
