hello all

I'd like to introduce my self here, even though I am not a subscriber (yet - there seems to be trouble...)

I am a teacher in photography, working at a folk high school in the very top of Denmark - Europe....

I am autodidact in photography, and have been addicted for some 20 years or more..

Formally a musician, but the photography somehow just took over...

I love the different types of cameras, so I like to play around with all kind of formats.
my preferred camera would be:

135mm: Topcon! (have almost all the lenses, so I am covered)
120: Rolleiflex SL 66 E. (a formidable camera)
toy: Diana F (so much fun - but also in all serousness)
large: Sinar Norma
even larger: GANDOLFI High Precision (only because it is the most beautifull camera I have ever seen...)
larger than larger: unknown 30x40cm mahogany. (I have difficulties finding film, though..)

I mainly do nudes and portraits - and some stills

I most often paint with light, as I like the unknown factors and as I can fully be in controll of this light (if successfull)

I ever so often Kills my negatives.

90% or so of my images I print using liquid emulsion.
I also love to do photopolymer gravures - cyanotypes and oil prints.

in Denmark Photography is not art. by law.
so nobody will buy my stuff (or I pretend it is of that reason ;-))

so I teach. that's fun too!

I'd love to show you some of my stuff, but untill the subscribing issue is solved, I can't.
I, however, have a home page for you all to go-see...

that's about it. this seems to be an interesting site. I hope it is.

best regards
emil schildt

Welcome, Emil. There are lots of fine folks here (myself excluded, of course), including quite a few other autodidacts (myself included this time).

Emil - welcome, but be aware that Denmark is South to some people here. There are members living noth of me, too!

Men velkommen skal du være!

PS: I've got a Gandolfi too - a 5x7" traditional!

hi Emil

Welcome to APUG. Another Dane here (from Århus). Your website is GREAT!
I saw your work at Danmarks Fotomuseum in Herning some weeks ago. It is GREAT.

Greetings Morten

PS.: Jeg er medlem af AFA i Århus, og selv i gang med alternative processer. Specielt fotopolymergravure er jeg i gang med at lære.
