Hello from Chico CA

Hi all,

I just joined this forum/site on the recommendation of a friend. I just purchased a canon AE-1program (which was the camera I learned on in high school back in the early 80s) and I was looking for a place to help me get my chops back.

I am mostly interested in B/W photography with 35mm. I am right now in the process of building a dark room.

I haven't shot 35mm in well over a decade, but it seemed a good time to get back in the hobby.

I am a research analyst and ex-brewer at Sierra Nevada Brewing company, and I look forward to some cool discussions about photography.

I just got here, so I will try not to be a noob too much. First few days I will befriend the search function so I don't ask the same questions you guys have answered a billion times.

My motivating force for getting back into 35mm was:

A: Fun!
B: Cheap now with darkroom equipment selling for a song.
C: Trip to Africa and an opportunity for great pictures.

Camera is on its way, so I figured I should start brushing up before it gets here.....

I just found a deal on an enlarger I think. From ordering a camera to obsessing in 1 day! sweet!

Now, if I just could remember what I learned in 1984......
