Hi,
I’ve been lurking around for a while absorbing some fantastic knowledge but I thought I should finally register so I can participate. I learned a bit about photography and printing when I was at school many decades ago and I absolutely loved it despite not taking a decent photo in the entire year I was studying. Ever since I’ve had a lifelong ambition to have a darkroom and I’m pretty close to making it happen now. I just have to convince my husband that I won‘t make too much of a mess if I set up an enlarger on a little trolley in the second bathroom.
We both really enjoy film photography (we do use digital for work though). Between us we have too many cameras. I went through a 110 stage, so I have five of those, and he mostly sticks with his Pentax 67, so we’re at opposite ends of the spectrum. A couple of years ago we got carried away and bought a Plaubel Peco Universal III 5x7 which is a joint camera mainly because, at our ages, it takes two of us to remember how to use it properly, and it’s kind of essential to have one person being assistant to hold all the paraphernalia. My most recent acquisition is a Voigtlander Bessa II which I’m slowly getting used to. Looking forward to talking to you all about analog photography
