I'm Ben Schneider, of Wheeling, West Virginia. I have been making art since I was about eight years old. I started doing photography in late1968 while in the Third Infantry. Won my first photography award while in college in 1970. I started my Commercial Photography business in 1972, and graduated from college. My favorite formats are 4x5, and Hasselblad. I semi retired for Covid, and officially retired at the beginning of June 2024 for health reasons. I have been busy redesigning my home darkroom to be able to do gum-bromate printing. I have also taken up a hobby of collecting and repairing old photography equipment (mostly large format). I hope to experiment with making paper negatives to scan, print and make digital negatives. I shot and made my first digital print in 1986, but beganing scanning negatives and printing digital in earnest in 1980. I started shooting digital in 2000. I like doing all my own printing and finishing.
