Hello all, I'm James and I'm here seeking answers for my questions in regards to my great grandfather 's old photography equipment...

So far I've found a Kodak cutting board. I believe a photo enlarger and random sets of Kodak lens. I'm trying to find out what they are and what they are worth. If anyone is interested in trying to tell me what they are let me know. I'll post pics. If anything else, it will be cool to look at. I think they are from the 40's.

Not necessarily, really. Photrio is one of the forums where it's actually fairly easy to upload pictures.

When posting from Windows, what I usually do is just open the image on my monitor, then hit Shft-WinKey-S to make a screen snippet, and simply paste it into my post with Ctrl-V. No uploading, no fidgeting with dialogs, no problems with images being too big etc.

The camera appears to be a Kodak Recomar 33 that shoots 3.25 x 4.25 sheet film. Can't tell for sure; it might be the Recomar 18.

I have boxes of these along with polycontrast acetate filters

Sepia toner is for darkroom prints that produces the classic "brownish" tint to the image after development (should be fine to use).

The Thread easy reel is for an open reel audio tape recorder.

After looking at the images of the camera more carefully, I feel it is a Recomar 18 due to the 105mm focal length lens.

Neat old stuff, nothing valuable so far. I noticed a reference written on the yellow packet of Sepia Toner, something about P-122 Hardener. P-122 was a color printing process that predates CP-5. 1950's, 60's pretty cool.

105mm lens suggests 6.5x9 cm (I doubt if it would cover 9x12). Could be a Recomar 18, but I don’t see enough in the photos to be sure. I think there should be an identifying mark on the leather handle if it is.

[Edit: I just saw the plate on the bed that identifies it as a Kodak AG product. I think that makes it definitely a Recomar.]

They’re nice cameras, not especially valuable, a little inconvenient to use by modern standards. The asking prices for them on eBay at the moment are all over the map, but I think the sellers asking US$600+ are a bit fanciful.

The book is late 1970’s. Look on bottom of page 1for a date.
