The title says it all. I imagine I'll need a center grad filter for my incoming Nikkor SW 75mm 4.5 lens. I read that the Heliopan 1.5 stop option is a good fit.

So if you have one in excellent condition, please let me know your price shipped to New York state.

If you have an alternative filter that you think works well, please let me know what it is and the price. I'll do some quick googling on it.

Thanks!

You may or may not "need" one. Much depends on how you use the lens, the film you are using, and your "taste" -- AKA, preferences.

See: www.subclub.org/fujinon/center.htm

understood (at least in theory from what i've read). i'll be shooting some utah landscapes on slide film, and really want to ensure an even spread across the sky. so i plan on using a graduated square filter and thought if possible, i'd get a center grad on there behind that square filter.

the link you provided isn't working for me, even if i add an "l" at the end. can you resend?

Slide or other higher contrast film are more likely to be a problem -- it's easy to test, and you don't need to be in Utah.

As to the website, its server is having SSL problems, but the website is there. Use a VPN, and older browser with less security blockers, or in Firefox a PRIVATE tab.

perhaps i'll wait until i have all the gear to pull the trigger. still i'll leave the WTB ad up. i also plan to pursue 6x17 with my shen hao back.

thanks for the link, using incognito i was able to read.

i'll plan on firing an exposure and sending it off for development to see what the vignette scenario is. though i imagine that will change a bit depending on where i'm pointing the camera. but maybe not (some of this stuff is just too technical for me!).

Make sure you take the test exposure at an f-stop you are likely to use -- not wide open. Also, just because someone suggested a certain CND filter for your lens, doesn't mean that it will be the one you prefer. You might like a stronger or weaker CND filter. You might find this hard to believe, but different photographers have different tastes.

Take a picture of a white wall. That will show you how dark the corners will get.
