Having just acquired a Heliar 150mm lens in an old dial set Compur shutter I have one minor problem - no retaining ring!
What is the best way of finding a new retaining ring? The shutter has a maximum speed of 1/150th sec if that is of any help.
Grimes list gives the shutter mount diameter for several versions of the Compur, both modern and dial set. You should be able to measure what you need off your shutter and see if Grimes offers it.

I am looking into making this a "universal" flange for my 4x5.
They have some drawbacks--new they are $105. They don't have a flange, so I will have to mount them differently, and take care not to create light leaks.
Lastly, they don't lock at a given aperture. The locking can be got around by using a rubber band to hold the aperture adjustment lever in place. However, I managed to hold my (newer) 150mm Heliar just fine with this.
This one is on a 13x18cm tail-focusing plate camera; I also have others mounted on a 18x24cm and a 24x30cm one. There are even small versions that fit on a Speed Graphic lensboard!
Mounts any lens (unless it's ridiculously wide or heavy) regardless of diameter and thread pitch
