I have an extended ceiling section in my darkroom to accommodate the full height of the enlarger. Something along the lines of 2400mm if I recall correctly.
Dave, the floor mount is far superior, I use mine for 6x17, 5x4 & 10x8 and would be crippled if I had to use a bench mount version as I wouldn't be able do decent sized enlargements. If all you do is up to around 1x14/12/16 fine but I do print larger very occasionally and the drop bed is brilliant.
My previous enlarger a Johnson V54 was wall mounted at bench height (alongside a Durst M601) but the base board slotted into a rack that enabled me to take it down to floor level. You still need the height, but the bench mount De Vere doesn't allow this.
I once measured up for a 19" equipment racks height...BUT forgot that the ceiling needed to be about a foot higher in order to get it in horizontal and then 'swing' it up verticle! We landed up sawing about 6" off the cabinet!!! Once bitten.......
Dave - The only reference I've found suggests that racked to full height it is about 8ft (2.4m). Additional headroom is required for air movement or the head overheats.
It might be worth contacting the seller and see if he will allow a viewing.
The head shouldn't need extra height for cooling as it should have exhaust fans on the side. Mine has and an extra controller that keeps the fans running for an adjustable time after the lamps switch off.
A Devere floor standing enlarger might fit in but not allow the head to rise to the top of the column, that would be preferable to a limited bench mount.
I had a measure up this morning and the floor to ceiling distance is 2.4M so it will be touch and go to see if it will fit. I appreciate that there should be extra height above to allow the head to go up to it's highest but this won't be an issue as I won't be doing prints larger than 20"x16"

If the floor mount is too high you can use the wall mount (I'm using it this way since I unfortunately doesn't have 2400mm free height in my darkroom).
