I'm looking for a heavy duty paper trimmer (Guillotines, Rotary or anything) that cuts about 40 sheets of Epson Premium Luster paper (10 mil, 240 gsm) at once. I had a Dahle 534 and it cuts about 15 copy papers but only able to cuts 3 Epson Premium Luster Papers. The cut length must be at least 17" long. I'm hoping to get one under $500 but is there such thing? Thanks!
You're not likely to find one new under $500. One that I've used is the Martin-Yale 7000 and it's about $850 but only cuts 12" wide. It would probably be less expensive just to take all of your paper to a print shop and have them cut it for you. More than likely they have an electric or hydraulic shear that will be quite precise.
I bought a Kuttrimmer used and it is a pretty amazing trimmer. I bought it to cut steel backed printing plates for polymer photogravure so it is pretty stout. Not sure about 40 sheets of paper, but it is about as sturdy as any manual cutter.
