Hello all!
I'm heading to Hong Kong for three weeks very shortly and would love suggestions on key photo locations and shops to visit. I'm a medium format shooter, with a preference for landscape, but obviously taking the opportunity to work on street photography while I'm in HK.
Suggestions appreciated
First time there?
Some ideas:
Top of Victoria Peak. Get there at sunset and stay for 1-2 hours until the light is gone.
Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Street in Central.
Mong Kok in Kowloon at night.
Po Lin Buddhist Temple on Lantau Island.
Nathan Road and the various side streets in Kowloon.
Victoria Harbor from the Kowloon side (duh!).
Wan Chai area. Tons of busy streets and crazy active markets.
Ching Chung Koon Taoist temple in Tuen Mun. Very beautiful and peaceful in the mornings.
I buy my film in Central Hong Kong at Pottinger and Stanley street. You cant miss the giant Fujifilm sign right at this corner. If you are in Kowloon, you can buy film at:
Wing Shing Photo Supplies Co., Ltd.
G/F, Shop 55-57 Sai Yeung Choi Street South, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong
I hope this helps. Let me know if you want more details or have questions.
