So, I just booked a trip to New York for my wife and I for mid February...it was a surprise trip,
and she and I are stoked! She's excited for Fashion Week, I'm excited for winters long shadows.

It's going to be an adventure trip for us, being able to share my old city with my honey, and visit
some familiar and not so familiar places....Since 2006, how much has changed? LOL. It's the one
thing we can all count on in life isn't it? Since then, the meat packing district has changed, DUMBO
is the place to be, and I'm sure, much will be unfamiliar...still, I can't wait!

I assisted there full-time for four years for a couple heavy hitters, and then ended up shooting
editorial for a few years before heading west to CA.

What is waiting for me there? Would love to hear from some New Yorkers who have been there
during my time away...I lived in NY through 9/11...saw the city during its toughest time, and it's
finest hours.
How have I stayed away so long? Such a magical place.

Happy holidays gang.

as an ex-new yorker i too look forward to going back every 3-4 months (family)... beyond the traditional spots, i don't miss spending a few hours photographing at the Cloisters (part of the MMA). a visit to cathedral of st john the divine is also worthwhile and fun.

of course there's always the street photography!

enjoy!
