I have a faulty unit that I would like to repair. The power does not cut off when the timer stops. The front dial comes off ok, but the plastic movement is retained by the white plunger. There seems to be no way to get it apart. Is there a secret?

Is access from the base of the timer? Look for rubber feet or labels over possible screw positions. I have seen a Hauck timer and recognise the sort of design but have never tried to open one, so it could also use plastic snap-hook fittings instead of metal screws.

I got it working now. It needed the lower contact blade bending slightly.
