Hasselblad V adapter for 4x5 camera. Anyone?

Hello all,

I have a Hasselblad medium format set up along with an A12 magazine.
I've also just bought a 4x5 camera but am looking for a roll film holder and came across this Hasselblad V adapter which implies that my A12 back will fit.

Anyone ever bought a Hasselblad V adapter for their 4x5 or is it best to stick with something like a Wista or Toyo 67?
Can't see how you wind on the film with the adapter I assume, but have never tried to wind on my film without the body mid roll.
I'll have to ask the seller how this bit works.

Good quality roll film backs for view cameras are plentiful and cheap on the S/H market. For the price of that adapter I would rather get one or two 6x7 Horseman roll film backs and crop down to 6x6. OTOH, shooting rollfilm on a 4x5 with view camera lenses is a compromise as such, and I personally don't see the point in shooting anything smaller than 6x9 on a view camera. So if I wanted to shoot square format on a view camera I would probably rather use 4x5 sheets and crop accordingly.

This adapter has no film winding, it is for digital backs. I know only one adapter in moment were you can transport the film, but it is for Sinar or horseman

I purchased such an adapter a few days ago and find it is ok. mnemosyne is right there are a lot of film backs for little money and is often a better idea, however , I own two 6x7 Super Rollex for my 4x5, but I like the idea to use my Hasselblad backs sometimes for my 4x5 too. The film is faster full and can be developed..........

Just shoot 4"x5" sheet film. Roll backs are not worth the trouble since one gets MF results with a bulky LF camera. Either take the plunge or don't.

To be honest you are a lot better off with a roll film back, i think the mppV111has a graflock back so you just focus on the screen take off the back and replace it with the film back, the hasselblad back is too much like hard work

It looks like a standard fitting for a hassenblatt magazine to me. If it's used with the original 12 magazine the counter is through the flip down cover in the back surface.
Seems like a hard way to do it though.

an interesting alternative may be a Sinar Zoom or Vario. In 1980/90s we had one in the Studio I worked, it was great for product Photography. You put it in the Camera like a normal sheetfilm cassette and can switch the format from picture to picture if you want. (6x4,5 - 6x6 - 6x7 - 6x9 - 6x12). They are not the cheapest....(ebay 150€ - 300€)
