Hello All,

I'm looking at a SWC/M camera online and was wondering if you could help me solve a difficulty I'm having identifying what could be going on with the camera, before I buy it.

It looks like the Cone (part 13435-1) had some sort of white spots on it. The seller attempted to clean it, the results of which you can see in the photos.

Is this something to be concerned about? Is it something that can--or even needs--to be addressed for the function of the camera?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have those same looking white spots on my 150 C lens, they appeared a few days after taking pictures of surfers from a pier above them. That was thirty years ago and they are still there, and have not caused any problem. I figured some salt spray got on the lens while I was switching lens causing a bit of corrosion. The only thing I would worry about is maybe flare reflecting light off the white spots.

You could (re)paint the surface black. Choice of media - getting that right - will be important.

Very interesting.

I guess as long as it's not a mold or a fungus, it's probably alright. But I'd like to know exactly what it is and if it's something I could have fixed by a pro, if need/want arose.

I don't know, i'm starting to think there is something wrong here. In the upper left corner of the lens it looks like something has taken hold...

The spots look like the same as mine, but that does not mean its not something bad. If you can replace the part (you showed a part #) I would.

Call up a certified Hasselblad Repair person and ask for their opinion , and if it possible to replace the part with spots at a good price.
