Hasselblad SWC CF Lens + B60 Adapter-67mm Filter + Generic Hood

Hi folks, I'm trying to attach a filter to my SWC/M lens, by first using a B60-67MM adapter ring, then attaching a 67MM filter. This works fine. However, when I try and attach the Hood, it can't seem to find enough clearance to grab the outer bayonet.

This hood is a generic, plastic copy. The original OEM hoods are expensive, and I'm happy to pick one up, but wanted to know if I'll continue to have this issue.

Someone may be able to correct me on this, but it seems that a hood on a super-wide angle lens is so short it doesn't really do much good. If you are working on a tripod, it is simpler to look at the lens and see if the sun is hitting the lens and shade it with a card held over the lens.

This is a great point! I wonder if needing to use the shade is part of the OCD nature of needing to have everything setup exactly as it 'should be'

I think it's time to consider investing in a B60 Y2/ #8 yellow filter. Yes, they're fairly expensive (not really, relative to an SWC/M), but they'll make your life much easier.

Use a B60 filter and then the lens hood will attach. I put yellow gaffer tape on the lens cover and lens hood to remind me to remove the lens cover BEFORE taking the photograph.

The SWC CF hood is the same as that of the 60mm CF lens. Here a few pics of how the OEM hood looks like with a B60 filter.
I have a hard time imagining how a 67mm filter would fit in there. (This is a very scientific statement, I know )
The inside dimension of the hood is 75mm, measured at the "top edge" (i.e. not the lens side) of the hood. So theoretically, a 67mm filter could fit in there, but you might need some spacer ring. I guess this would create a lot of vignetting with such a wide angle lens as the SWC.

I think there are only 2 options:
1. forget about using a hood,
2. use a B60 filter.

Very good advice! My SWC has a filter permanently attached to it, and the lens cover is only rarely used (e.g. when i put the camera in a bag)
