Hasselblad split prism focusing screen center looks black?

Hello

Recently I noticed the center (round) portion of my Hasselblad 501C/Ms focusing screen looks mostly black while I look through my PM5 prism finder. The center dot looks mostly black and depending on how I angle the camera, certain areas become clear.

Why is this happening? As far as I remember the center of the screen always looked clear in the past.

Please feel free to change my username to APUGs biggest idiot. I just noticed the lens was stopped down to f/8 LOL.

You should be able to stop down to F8 and have a bright view of the prism. Just disengage DOF preview on the left side of the lens :smile:

Now if only one of your friends could get ahold of your camera for a few minutes and use a black marker on the split prism...:devil:
