In the US, I just saw a Trilipex advertisement with a photographer using a Hasselblad with a waist level finder. Then they show him with large mounted prints on display. The camera had a film back.

Now that Hasselblads are showing up in TV ads, we can expect a new surge in their cult status and an astronomical increase in prices for used gear. The resulting increase in film sales will prompt film manufacturers to double their output and film prices will fall like winter rain.

Owning a Hasselblad should automatically qualify people as models:tongue:

What, and have to hand over a large chunk of what we earn to an agent?

A lot of high end pro photographers actually do have agents who help them get work. Apparently the commissions are outweighed by the work the agent brings in.

It's interesting that they made all the simulated shots square format. Certainly appropriate to the prop camera, but not something that most viewers would pick up on. B&W prints on the wall was a nice touch too.

Yeah Right.

I used to say that; " Hasselblad's were for Squares."

Now even they don't believe it, proving me right
after all these years.

Hasselblad was sold off twice IIRC and now sells cameras that do not take square photographs.

Its a 500cm with a 80mm lens the tripod is about right , agents cost 25% of the fee ,they are supposed to cover there costs by gaining higher fees and sorting out the minefield that is called usage , this is the theory and not always the actuality

New Sighting

Friday night was the first airing of a new television show on NBC "Southland". Naturally a police show that takes place in Los Angeles [what a new concept!]. One of the police officiers has a girlfriend or wife [who pays attention] who from the start of the show is dying to get a Hasselblad. She is trying to earn money to buy one. At the end of the show, the officier puts a $500 deposit on a Hasselblad with a big strobe on the right side. The camera store salesman says that the Hasselblad is the best camera in the world as the television camera moves in on the camera.

So there you have it. Rollei and Mamiya owners dispair! Even television screen writers and producers agree that the Hasselblad is the best camera in the world!

He needs a lens shade.

Thanks for that post, btw. This is the first one of those ads about which I actually will ask my doctor. I have really low HDL.
