I have today got a Hasselblad 500CM with 150mm lens and film back. This kit appears to be in excellent condition and everything seems to work, so I am quite tickled, though I plan to send the body & back off for CLA in the new year. My question concerns the body serial number, which begins with the letters UUC followed by six digits. I presume UU indicates built in 1977, but what is the significance, if any, of the C? Thanks,
Ted

I think the C stands for "made in China". I hope you didn't pay for a Swedish one!

Curiosity aroused, I just had a peek at QG's site and it looks like the C is no more than a product code for the 500C/M. As Steve says, QG himself will no doubt provide fuller info in due course.
