Does the Hasselblad back count exposures without film loaded?

I have a back that I haven't used in some time and I can't remember if it is loaded with film. The counter shows a number and counts up when I make an exposure, but how do I know if film is loaded? Sorry for the senior moment question!

You have film in the magazine. Look on the side and see if the red film indicator shows how much film has been used.

The counter will count, but the film usage "thermometer" will not.

Thanks Sirious and Brian. I have film!

HiHoSilver has been guilting me, I mean encouraging me, to use the 40 Distagon lens. Today I returned to a site that I recorded yesterday with a non-film camera.

'Can't wait to see the shots!

Lest anyone forget, Frank did this one - of which I'm highly jealous. 'Love it.

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Thanks HiHo! I don't think this one will rival that one but I keep trying. Is it kosher to post a sketch of what the film version will look like? I noticed that with the hasselblad square format that I used today, I was able to include a nice arching branch over the scene that helps frame the shot.

I probably don't know enough to talk square vs other, but I've not found square to be limiting. With the 120 size, I can crop if I need to. First glance at this image & I'm instantly struck by the clarity, detail & tones. Its really nice that way. 'Wish all my stuff came out this good. I *do* like the branch framing & I use stuff the same way to frame. 'Seems funny how I keep staring at the shot. The tones & clarity keep me looking.
