Up until now I have had no problem changing lenses on my 500c/M.

Today a 500EL/M arrived, the little switch that has to point to the red dot was completely off. Silly me tried to put a lens on.... did not work. (Duh!)

Not only that, the lens switch is also off its red dot and wont fit back on the 500C/M

Can anyone give a a tip as to how to repair this? I dont want to go at it with hammer and screwdriver.

The switch on the lens wont turn at all.

Best

Try a coin and wind it until it clicks in place.

Have you checked if your EL/M has a charged battery inside? It looks like the body has fired and needs to be rewound by the battery, while your lens is probably cocked correctly. If the lens is a pre CF version, you can try to fire the shutter with the self release present on the lens to see if it works.

Thanks guys...

I tried the coin again (Clockwise this time ;-) and it worked.

And the battery thing should have been a no brainer... hope it arrives soon so I can test it.

Thanks
Chris
