I recently got my hands on a Polaroid back for my 500cm. I went for one of the cheaper ones as I won't be using it that often and when I do it will just be for fun. On the glass of the Polaroid back there's a reasonable sized scratch. Is there anyway of reducing this scratch at all?

Sorry I have no answer for your question. But is there really a glass?
Maybe Hassalblad makes it possible. But why?

Yes there's a piece of glass infront of the Polaroid. I've read it's because the plane of focus would be just infront of where the Polaroid sits so the glass just extends it.

That is the "fiber-glass extender" of Marty Forscher.

The idea was to pick-up rays at the focal-plane and transfer them further back to the polaroid film, being larger than the camera's frame.

Get another back - I sold one for like $30 a year ago - the film is all gone and a pack costs more than the back

Weird thing is that I've heard that some backs have gone up in value because of it... I didn't research myself yet.

Like GargeBoy said, get another one... I have one for sale.
