Hasselblad ND Filter

I just recently got a 500cm. As you know in bright conditions outdoors you run out of shutter speed since it only goes to 1/500 sec.....So I searched the net for a B50 ND filter and I keep coming up empty. Does such an item not exist? Is it so rare or are we stuck shooting at the "sunny 16 rule outside and forget about DOF control? Thanks in advance.

If you can get away without using the Hasselblad bellows lens shade you might consider a B50 to screw mount adapter and a threaded ND filter where there are way more options to choose from. (the beauty of the B50 is that they will still attach to the lens when the lens hood is attached, with a step-ring adapter you lose that option)

Having checked an old Hasselblad catalog I see they produced 4x, 8x and 64x (2 stops, 3 stops & 6 stops) ND filters in the B50 size.

There are a couple of options for you. B50->52mm or B50->Series Vll. Both will fit within the shade.
Tiffen has always worked for me in many different varieties. step up/down/Series/step from one Series to another and more.

Thanks john. I bought a hasselblad B50 to 67mm adapter last night. Will that work?

That ill work unless you want to use the original Hasselblad hood.
The advantage of course, is that 67mm filters and or lens hoods can be found at reasonable prices.

Ah , I just figured I'd go hood less. I'll look into a larger hood. Thx johm
