After doing a little more research I found that the old 120 S 5.6 is a macro lens as well and exact same design as the new "makro" lens but a stop slower. So I may not need tubes or filters! I just bought the chrome C version off KEH for $415. Not bad!!
Well I finally got the kit built around the 120 5.6 S Planar that I purchased. I took my first shots this evening and the negs are drying now. I'll post results soon.
Guys, here's my first good image from my first session of still life in my entire life. I gathered up some milk jugs, some I found while out in the woods. The crate is from my great grandfathers fruit orchard he operated years ago. Notice the "Steinberger Orchards." The shot was almost at closest focus. Shot at f/16 at 1/2sec on FP4 and developed in Rodinal 1:50 for optimum sharpness. I really like the way this image came together. And I'm very excited to get into shooting still life more!

BTW.. I'm getting some small amount of flare from the 120/5.6. Knowing it's not a T* coating I should get a lens hood for it. What is the correct B50 lens hood to use on this lens?
