For several days I've been trying to open a couple of the pdfs for Hasselblad information. I always end up with some message saying the browser had a problem completing the job. Then I have a choice of trying again with the same result or closing it. Anybody else have this problem?

I, alas, don't.
Alas, because if i had, i'd perhaps could figure out where the problem lies.
It's probably the cheapish (well... ) shared hosting, servers trying to 'balance load', timing out too soon. Or something like that.

Which ones are you looking for?
Perhaps i can get them to you along a different route.

Have you tried to download the file instead of opening it in the browser? Right click (assuming windows) on the link and it gives the option to save the file to disk. Then you open it with acrobat.

Which ones? I could download them and email them to you.

Steve

I tried the download approach and ran into the same problem. 6.96 mb of 7.04 downloaded the hung up. I got the same error message as before.

I'm trying to get the 500C camera manual and the A magazine.

John,

Sorry to hear about the continued difficulties.

Try this link for the 500 C manual.
And this link for the A magazine manual.

Please let me know if these work for you.

The A magazine came through fine but the 500C manual appears to be doing the same thing here that it did before. Only page 1 shows up even though it indicates it downloaded the entire file. Your link had an Adobe error message saying something about an error reading a page. Our Adobe is fairly old. Maybe that is where the problem lies. I'll try to download a new one and try it all again.

Ahhh ... therein lies the problem.

Ahhh ... therein lies the problem.

Uhmmm... not too fast...
It may still be the PDF-file itself.

It's rather large anyway, so i'll see if i can create a version that is both smaller and better behaved.

I just uninstalled the Reader 9.2 on the computer and reinstalled it from Adobe. Same problem. I guess it is something about the size. We have had the problem before with large files. I thought is was because we were on dial and something was timing out. Now we're on a Broadband modem and we still have the Reader problem. I believe big pdf files are the only thing having this "network error".

O. G. - I tried your link to 500C with the new Adobe, it worked. Now I've got'em both.

Thanks,

John
