Hasselblad focusing issues and a weird repair experience

...I might have been unclear in my initial post, but just to be clear it was the metal frame of the mirror that was filed down, not the camera body....

Ah yes, that was clear, I just miss-read. (Metal frame of the focus screen... NOT the mirror! )

Shame about the screen, but at least he got the film plane to register with it. Lets hope it stays that way.

PS: I've never shaved down a Hasselblad screen, but I have removed the frame so I could use it on a 500c...

One of my two screens for my 500 C/M slipped out of it's frame, for it has a split screen and a long crack and scratches but I can focus better with it, and once, I mounted it backwards in it's aluminum frame, while in a hurry, so, be aware that second hand screens might just have things backwards when you buy them.

To update, I've sent the camera to Dave Odess. He called my repairman a butcher who should have his tools taken away, but that he (Dave) would be happy to fix it The Right Way™. Hopefully he has an old focus screen casing that can be used to salvage my butchered focus screen too, fingers crossed!

I just sent him an 80mm C T* and he said the same, he would take all of the previous tech's tools away! He will take care of your Hassy body for sure, he CLA'd mine years ago and it's still stellar.

Gem of a looker for an 80mm C T*, but the insides were worked by a butcher. I can only imagine working on such small escapements and such.
