Man, I just had (almost) this exact issue with an RZ67 flash bracket, starting to think I am cursed, and I just want to shoot flash portraits on MF! I am hoping there is an answer out there, something obvious I am missing, otherwise this thing is just busted.

I just acquired a flash bracket for my 500CM - it is the standard model, 45071 it seems. I can see that a threaded cable release CAN be added, though it did not include one, so I have to find a super thin and short cable release to fit this small hole - lets hope I can locate one like that.

I attached a threaded cable release to see if the bracket works, and it does the weirdest thing... The cable release, when fully pressed in, will move the shutter release trigger with ease. If you don't know what I mean, I can be more clear. There is a little arm that the cable release is triggering, it presses inwards and activates the shutter on the camera body. It will press in, as it should, but it WILL NOT press the shutter all the way. You'd have to press the metal in further with your finger, which is basically just a shield over the shutter release. This is so frustrating, does anyone have a clue here? Greatly appreciated, as always.
