I am looking at the HASSELBLAD FLASH BRACKET 2 46330 and wondering if it has a hot shoe or a cold shoe? That is, would I still need to connect a sync cable to the flash? If so, I can just stick with my Sunpack potato masher.

I believe all of the shoes on Hasselblad flash brackets are cold.

Cold. But I like it. I have a Sunpak 611 potato masher too that is big heavy and powerful and I love to use it. But it's big and heavy. Sometimes I don't need all that power. So I use the Hasselblad bracket, mount the much lighter Sunpak 322 with its incorporated cable and use it instead. The ergonomic handle is so comfortable and a breeze to use. And the trigger mechanism for the shutter release a joy too. All much better balanced as well.
